It took us time, sweat and tears but here we are! We finished our Bathroom a few weeks ago and I wanted to share the result with you. Everything was made by my husband and I: cabinets, moldings, shower… it was hard work but it was definitely worth it. I’m so glad with the result and delighted by every minut I spent in it! Please come in for a visit, shall we?
At the beginning there was… absolutely nothing because my husband and I built our house ourselves. It was hard work but after two years we were finally in our house.
“In” didn’t meant “finished” though and there was only the minimal equipment to “survive” in our house. There was a lot to do and it is still a work in progress. The bathroom was one of the first rooms we finished with our Master bedroom and the bedroom of our little boy.
Here are a few pics of the “before”…
And the result…
Let’s come in… here is the “entrance”:
In the three top cabinets I organized our medecines. The medium left cabinet has several shelves, and in the right cabinet we put some brackets for our nightclothes and robes.
At the bottom you find our three laundry baskets cabinets.
We chose to let the central cabinet open to create a more spacious feeling as you walk in the bathroom.
We framed the bath area with a wooden arch to add some drama to the decor.
I found a changing table with a colour that was perfectly matching the one of the room. Which is the “Blue Grey”, from Farrow & Ball. As its name doesn’t suggests it, it is more a greenish grey than a blue one…
To hang our towels, I bought several beautiful towel rails at Pottery Barn. Gosh, online shopping is a miracle! 😉
The towels are coming from a French shop called Cyrillus. I’ll talk about it in a next post. I love their “Turkish Bath” look.
And then the cabinets. We created a false wall at the back to hide two cabinets behind the mirrors.
The faucets are from Hudson Reed and the sconces are from Pottery Barn too.
In the shower we chose some white tiles with a marble floor and some marble details. The decor inspiration came from a video of Sarah Richardson that I really loved.
Voilà! We are very happy with the result and I can’t wait to share with some others pics of our other finished rooms. I hope you enjoyed this post and I wish you a wonderful day!
