Hi Everyone! I hope you’re doing great and that you’re spending a wonderful July? Here in Belgium the weather is finally warm and sunny! We can’t say how happy we are and there is a feeling of Summer vacation in the air. Perfect time for dinner alfresco, naps in the garden, ice creams and so much other little pleasures! Speaking of little pleasures… I wanted to share with you some of my July favourites.
I’m leaving for a girl trip in a few days with my Sister and Mother for my Mother’s 60th Birthday. We’ve planned a nice surprise trip to celebrate with her just the 3 of us. Girl power is not dead! 🙂 I’ll share with you the details of this trip when I’ll be back. In the meantime, here is my first July favourite.
Do you recognize it? It’s the cristal and siver plate I’ve mentioned previously in my post “How a French flea market looks like“. I did’nt had the chance to use it already but I know it will be perfect for entertaining!
My second July favourite is the Karite butter from “Nature & Decouvertes”. I’m officially a fan of Karite butter and it’s a life saver in Summer. And Winter. Every season actually, as it is perfect for dry skin. If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t hesitate!
Another find : this beautiful little handbag that I’ve found at Massimo Dutti’s. I was looking for a small handbag for a while and this one looked perfect to accessorize any casual chic Summer outfit.
I also recently bought a new perfume. This is kind of a big deal for me because I’m usually very loyal to my usual perfumes, Which are: Flower Bomb, from Viktor & Rolf when I feel sophisticated; and Tommy Girl on a daily basis. I fell in love with the Summer perfume from Guerlain: Terracotta, inspired by the Terracotta make up line of the brand that just celebrated its 30th birthday. This perfume has a very sunny, beach-y scent but on a very subtle and refined way (which was kind of a challenge too). It’s the perfect way to feel on vacation even if yo’re going to work.
What about the house then? Well, I’ve also bought 4 new chinese blue and white jars for my collection. My husband has warned me that I could’nt buy one more chinese jar anymore because my quota was over. Poor thing. I could’nt tell him…;-)
Final July finds: as you may know, I love to buy my gifts and especially Christmas gifts year round as it gives you wonderful occasions to buy the appropriate gift for everyone without being in a hurry. Sales are the perfect occasion to keep your eyes open for great gifts at a reasonable price. I found a nice gift kit for my father with three different aromatic blends to cook your own vin chaud (“hot wine) yourself. It’s a French and German very traditional recipe for Christmas: you warm up red wine with sugar and spices and it gives a very comforting drink. I know he’ll be glad with this find!
My second Christmas gift is a beautiful Tartan plaid that I intend to give to my grand-mother who is a Tartan lover. I hope she’ll be glad too with this one. I even hesitate to buy one for our own home. These last two finds are also from “Nature et Découvertes”.
I hope you enjoyed my little July’s favourites. Don’t hesitate to share yours too in a comment below!
