Arcachon Bay (shops, bars & restaurants)

After my previous post about what to see and do in the Arcachon Bay, there are a few of the bonnes adresses we discovered during our stay there. A few restaurants, bars and shops that I really enjoyed and wanted to share with you, in case you’re planning a trip in the area!

On the beach Cap Pereire

A trendy beach club with the feet in the sand. The food was great, prices were correct for this kind of place. I particularly enjoyed the decor, simple but with a true beachy athmosphere. The blue and green colours make you feel like in a (very hippie chic) fisherman’s cabin.

La Co(o)rniche

Such a beautiful place ! I really loved this one. The view on the Dune du Pilat and on the sea is amazing. The decor (by Philippe Starck) is incredible. The people are super classy and trendy but not arrogant. You can see that everyone is here to enjoy the place and the moment. Our cocktails were fabulous. We didn’t try the restaurant (neither the hotel) but the bar was great. It felt that it wasn’t just a drink, it was an experience in itself. So if you have the chance to try it, go for it!

Les Pins du Moulleau

We took a brunch at Les Pins du Moulleau, a new restaurant in Le Moulleau that had caught my attention with its beautiful decor. There are indeed genuine pine trees inside the restaurant (ok, they are actually fake but look completely real). It gives the place a charming and natural athmosphere added with a kind of scandinavian-hipster-70’s style that every trendy place seems to affectionate right now. So I really wanted to try it. The brunch was both a satisfaction and a disappointment. Satisfaction : the ingredients used were really high quality. The eggs, the cheeses, the charcuteries were really good. In is not like in most brunches where you generally receive some good but not unforgettable products. Disappointment  though beacause of the quantity. The plate was so tiny! And I’m not a big eater at all. So just one tip to make this place fabulous : please rise the quantities…

Le Grand Orme

Really loved this shop. A beautiful decoration shop located near Cap Ferret. You will find beautiful settings and mises-en-scène of different brands that I love as Flamant or Lexington. A true inspiration !

Frédélian

A bakery in the centrum of Cap-Ferret. Well-known, judging by the size of the queues… but it is worth it. I bought a box of macarons that were better than the Ladurée. And we tried two religieuses : chocolate for my husband, and passion fruit for me. Delicious and so beautiful.

N Home

Another decoration shop that we discovered in Cap Ferret. A sophisticated yet cozy athmosphere which I found quite inspiring. The shop is bigger than it seems!

Côté Sable

Côté Sable is an hotel but we went there for tea as they have a great terrace with a super central location in Cap-Ferret. Besides, I really enjoyed two things : Kusmi Tea and an home-made cookie. Two details that may seem insignificant but which really upgraded the experience in my opinion.
